## Lecture 21: Converse of Shannon’s theorem

In today’s lecture we saw an overview of the proof of the negative part of Shannon’s theorem for $\mathrm{BSC}_p$. This material is from Lecture 9 from Fall 07. We also briefly looked at an overview of the proof of the positive part of Shannon’s theorem. This part is from Lecture 10 from Fall 07.

In class today, I mentioned that there has been new constructive proof(s) of the Chernoff bound. Here is a link to the paper.
