Lecture 33: LDPC codes

In today’s lecture, we started with the definition and motivation for Low-Density Parity-Check codes, which were first studied in Gallager remarkable Ph.D. thesis. We then looked at the iterative message passing algorithm for the BEC_{\alpha}.

Next lecture, we will continue with the analysis of the decoding algorithm.
